A rare variety from Vern Jean Nursery in Oregon, this large-leafed sugar maple is columnar. Make that extremely columnar! Mazimum of 3 feet wide and mine now is over 15ft tall. See the photo? It grew two feet over the summer.(There's a joke in there somewhere) Hardy to 30 below zero F.
An outstanding hardy Maple with three separate leaves on each stem. Green leaves in spring and summer, with excellent orange or yellow fall color even in shade. Leaf shape is unusual, interesting and VERY nice. Winter shows off its exfoliating bark similar to Acer griseum only more textural. This tree can get 20 ft tall. I like this one and have planted some myself. An interesting cultivar in hardy or warmer climate gardens.
