This distinctive selection of Weeping Alaskan Cedar grows into an extremely narrow form with deep, rich green foliage. With age, the fast-growing trees develop fascinating character, almost personalities. Each has an upright, spire-like main trunk and gracefully draping branches that look like arms. The majestic tree produces secondary sub-leaders, forming a grove-like cluster of uprights. It appears to be slightly fuller than 'Strict Weeping.'
Chamaecyparis nootkatensis is also known as:
Cupressus nootkatensis
Callitropsis nootkatensis
Xanthocyparis nootkatensis
There is debate on which genus this tree should fall under with it being originally a Cupressus. It was returned to Cupressus but is being considered for Callitropsis and sometimes put under Xanthocyparis
