Fagus sylvatica Cochleata
A very slow growing shrub and ideal for the small garden. The leaves are oval, toothed, and spoon-shaped. Originating about 1840, ‘Cochleata’ is quite rare in the trade. In 70 years a specimen will be approximately 15 feet tall.
